All good questions, let me start by saying this;
None of this is in play right now. No one needs to worry about making any cuts or extending contracts at the moment.
I'll look in to the ratings for the pitchers, you are probably right, it should be SL more than likely. I'll get that fixed right away.
Contract length was randomly determined. I just had the script pick a random number between 1 and 6. These are not finalized, like everything else, just testing some things.
Numbers in the ( ) include that year. If it is red the salary is over and if it is green that is how much room is left. The $50 million was just an arbitrary number that I started with. That will certainly need to be adjusted, as just about every team is over the cap, and some of them are over the cap for the next five years with their initial rosters.
Trying to figure out how to determine contact length when players are extended, and what happens when they hit the open market. If you have any ideas on how that might or should look, I'm all ears.
